Building Bridges Between Families and Resources

The Seneca County Opportunity Center is here to advocate for and guide members of our community through what can be a complex landscape of available resources, to ensure that every family can quickly access the assistance they need.

What do Service and Support Administrators do?

Service and Support Administrators (or SSAs) are personal advocates for individuals with developmental disabilities and their families. Serving as a guide, SSAs monitor each service a person receives and also refer families and individuals to community resources.

The SCOC has been providing education and services in Seneca County, Ohio since 1956. Operating under the Seneca County Board of Developmental Disabilities since 1967, the SCOC serves individuals across their lifespan, striving to support and enrich the lives of every individual in our community.

Dinner and Dialogue

February 27, 2025 5:30 pm – 5:30 pm
Where: SCOC Gym (780 E. County Road 20, Tiffin, Ohio)
When: Soup and Sandwich dinner starts at 5:30pm, presentation at 6pm
Open to the public. RSVP by February 25th.
Speaker Dr. Melissa Tuttle, a licensed psychologist at Nationwide Children’s Hospital-Toledo and a Clinical Assistant Professor at The Ohio State University, will speak on the challenges of accessing diagnostic services due to few providers, long travel distances, and waitlists. Melissa is a Board Certified Behavior Analyst specializing in assessment and intervention with children and adolescents suspected of neurodevelopmental concerns.

Bakery Bingo

March 13, 2025 4:30 pm – 7:30 pm
Bakery Bingo is a fun event for the whole family! Come out and have dinner, and play bingo to win some delicious baked goods in the SCOC gym! There will be minimal supervision so we ask you to bring support if needed.
We will have our concession stand open, doors open at 4:30pm. Bingo starts at 5:30pm on Thursday, March 13th.
All proceeds from this evening will benefit the 2025 Unity Conference. Unity Council is a Self-Advocacy Group that plans a yearly conference. Unity is a chance for everyone to network, & build upon their advocacy skills
